You connect your optimisers directly to the output of the solar panels. They are all pre-fitted with MC4 connectors so they can be adapted to all our solar panels. This technology is capable of adapting the panel's performance to optimise your solar production. Your solar panels are ageing. Their power decreases unevenly from one panel to another. In order to adjust production without reducing overall performance, the solar optimiser will improve the performance of your solar panels. This solution is ideal for panels in the shade. The solar inverter will be limited and you could lose up to 90% of your production. Please note that these optimisers do not convert direct current. Check that the optimisers fit with our solar inverters. It's important to choose the right optimiser.

How do I buy my solar optimizer?

#1 - I select my inverter

It's vital to choose your inverter first. Optimisers work in conjunction with your solar inverter. Next, you can choose from the brands offered on our site. We have HUAWEI optimisers that only work with HUAWEI inverters. We have SOLAREDGE optimisers that only work with SOLAREDGE inverters. And finally we have the TIGO optimisers that work with all other solar inverters.

#2 - I confirm my order

Select the quantity you want. Add your solar optimisers to your cart. Create your account on Alma Solar. Click on ‘my cart’. In step 3 of your basket, you can select your payment method. You can choose Paypal, credit card, Klarna, Fintecture or bank transfer.

#3 - I receive my order

Once your order has been confirmed, our logistics team will prepare your order. As soon as your order has been dispatched, you will receive a tracking number for your solar optimiser. Please check on receipt to ensure the quality of our service. Start installing your solar panel with our fixings.

Shade management

Solar optimisers manage the unit power of your solar panels independently of each other. This means that if one of your solar panels is shaded, you can manage the unit power to optimise its production.

Making solar panels independent

What is a solar optimiser?

A solar optimiser, also known as a power optimiser, is a device that makes it possible to monitor the production of each of your photovoltaic panels independently in order to maximise the installation's electricity production.

Optimisers make almost every panel independent. In this way, if one of your solar panels is in the shade, the rest of your photovoltaic installation continues to operate normally.

How does a solar optimiser work?

A power optimiser is placed on each of your solar panels, like a micro-inverter, to monitor their production directly.

Its function is also to enable each of your modules to develop as much power as possible according to its constraints (sunshine, temperature, etc.), which may differ from those of the other panels. To do this, it uses MPPT technology, which stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking.

This system helps to maximise the production of your entire installation, regardless of the productivity of each individual module.

What are the differences between inverter, microinverter and optimiser?

The optimiser and the inverter or microinverter in a photovoltaic installation each monitor the output of the solar panels in their own way. However, unlike the other two devices, the solar optimiser does not convert the direct current from the module into alternating current to be fed into the grid. In other words, while a photovoltaic system can do without an optimiser, there is no such thing as a system without an inverter or microinverter.

The central inverter manages all the panels in series globally. Generally, there is only one or two for the whole installation. The microinverter, on the other hand, manages the production of each panel individually (or in pairs) in a circuit connected in parallel. There are therefore almost as many microinverters as there are modules in the installation.

In a conventional system with one or two central inverters, the solar optimiser allows you to manage production more finely, by individualising each solar panel.
